FX3G-40MR FX3GA

The Mitsubishi FX3G Series PLC has a maximum I/O point count of 256 points. If an extension to 384 points is required, a CC-Link expansion module must be added. On the other hand, the FX2N Series PLC supports up to 256 points of I/O configuration without the need for an additional expansion module. The instruction sets of these two PLCs are similar, with most basic instructions being compatible. However, the FX3G has a relatively slower processing speed.

From a compatibility standpoint, the FX3G and FX2N series share many similarities. Both belong to Mitsubishi's PLC product line, and they exhibit high compatibility in terms of programming languages, communication protocols, and certain advanced features. This makes it easy for users to transition from the FX2N to the FX3G, leveraging their existing program code and experience.

Although the FX3G is somewhat slower in processing speed, its flexibility in I/O expansion and functional extension offers more options for users. The FX3G supports CC-Link expansion, which is particularly useful in applications requiring multiple device connections. In contrast, the FX2N provides sufficient I/O points without the need for additional modules, making it more cost-effective for simpler applications.

In summary, the FX3G and FX2N series PLCs share many similarities in functionality and compatibility. However, the choice between them depends on specific application scenarios and performance requirements. For example, if the project demands a larger I/O point count or high-speed data transmission, the FX3G might be the better choice. Conversely, for projects with a limited budget or without the need for complex functions, the FX2N might be more suitable.
